A World of Light
The first book in an epic science fiction series that blends ancient mythology with cutting-edge technology, exploring the price of immortality and the bonds that connect us across the stars.
Anensi the Chanselor, stood at the observation platform of the Central Spire, gazing out at the shimmering expanse of the planet. The twin blue-white stars of Alnilam, the center of Orion's belt, pierced the inky void of space as their light fractured through Nibiru's crystalline atmosphere, creating a perpetual aurora that bathed the city in waves of blue, green, purple, and gold. The spires of polished metal that pierced the hyacinth-colored sky, reflected the kaleidoscope of colors. It was a sight he had witnessed countless times in his five thousand years, yet it never ceased to fill him with wonder.
Below him, spiraled the capital city of Cygnus outward in three immense coils that reached toward Nibiru’s other great cities.
He traced the path of the nearest coil with his eyes of enhanced vision, capable of telescopic focus, following it toward the city ofViridian, the home of the Newah tribe. Even from this distance, he could make out the vast botanical gardens and the distinctive architecture that seamlessly blended living walls pulsing with bioluminescent flora and technological elements.
"Admiring the view again, my son?"
Anensi turned towards his father Elder Kirin, his flowing ivory robe rippled as he walked. Embellished with geometric lavender patterns that marked him as a member of the Zefer tribe. His garment woven from remarkable biosynthetic polymer threads interfaced and enhanced his already formidable cognitive abilities. The iridescent gemstones of his attire, adorned of sapphires, diamonds, and topaz, weren't mere decorations but served as robust data lattices and quantum memory cores, storing phenomenal quantities of information accessible through his psychokinetic pathways.
"The city seems especially beautiful today," he replied.
"Perhaps because you know our planet may soon change forever," Kirin said, his voice gentle but heavy with the weight of recent Council findings.
Anensi nodded, understanding all too well what he meant. The news had spread quickly among those with clearance to know: Nibiru's Xenotrium reserves were depleting. The miraculous ore that powered their civilization, that made possible everything from their most modest devices to their grandest achievements, was running out. When the resources that sustain paradise begin to fade, how far would you go to preserve everything you love? And what would you sacrifice to ensure your people's survival?
